James Osborne, former managing partner of A&L Goodbody, has passed away at the age of 68. Mr Osborne, a well-known lawyer and former chairman of Independent News & Media (INM), died suddenly on Thursday.

Solicitor Gerard Doyle of Connolly Doyle Solicitors in Buncrana, has passed away. Mr Doyle was a well-known solicitor and a partner at the Co Donegal-based firm, where his wife, Mary Connolly, remains a partner.

Solicitor Antoinette Curran, a former president of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, has passed away. Ms Curran was admitted as a solicitor in 1979 and became president of the Law Society in 1998.

PJ O'Driscoll West Cork solicitor PJ O'Driscoll, partner in PJ O'Driscolls in Bandon, has passed away at 58.

Ciara Burns, head of litigation at GR Ingram and Co Solicitors, has passed away. Ms Burns is named as head of litigation on the website of the Portadown-based firm, which now has a headcount of 5 across its Portadown and Lurgan offices.

Dundalk solicitor Conor Breen of McDonough & Breen Solicitors (McDB) has passed away. Mr Breen was best known as principal solicitor at McDonough & Breen Solicitors, where his son Niall also works as a solicitor.

John F. Buckley Former solicitor and Circuit Court judge, John F. Buckley, has passed away at his home.

Retired Bangor solicitor Laura Gilbert has passed away, according to the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Mrs Gilbert was formerly a partner at Carnson Gilbert and Neill in Bangor, before that firm amalgamated with Morrow Graham. The firm now practises as CMG Cunningham Dickey in Bangor and Belfast.

Finbarr Flood, an Irish businessman and former chairman of the Labour Court, has passed away at the age of 77. In 1998, he became the first former managing director of a private sector company - Guinness - to chair the Labour Court.

John Guerin, president of the Law Society The Law Society of Northern Ireland has announced that one of its past presidents, Patrick Jemphrey, has passed away.

Irish barrister Colm O'Briain SC has passed away at the age of 48, The Bar of Ireland has confirmed. An alumnus of UCD School of Law, he was a leading member of the criminal bar, appearing in many prominent trials, taking briefs both as prosecuting and defence counsel.

Tributes have been paid to a former Co Limerick judge who has passed away at the age of 65. Judge Mary O’Halloran was appointed to the bench in October 1992 after practising as a solicitor in Tralee for sixteen years, and retired in 2012 after a twenty-year judicial career.
