John Guerin, president of the Law Society The Law Society of Northern Ireland has announced that one of its past presidents, Patrick Jemphrey, has passed away.

Irish barrister Colm O'Briain SC has passed away at the age of 48, The Bar of Ireland has confirmed. An alumnus of UCD School of Law, he was a leading member of the criminal bar, appearing in many prominent trials, taking briefs both as prosecuting and defence counsel.

Tributes have been paid to a former Co Limerick judge who has passed away at the age of 65. Judge Mary O’Halloran was appointed to the bench in October 1992 after practising as a solicitor in Tralee for sixteen years, and retired in 2012 after a twenty-year judicial career.
