#InPictures: Irish trainees competing in Paris moot court competition

A team of Irish trainee solicitors is competing in the Monroe E. Price Media Law moot court competition in Paris this week.

The Law Society of Ireland Law School team is coached by Matheson solicitor Rebecca McKittrick and includes Robert Murphy (Eversheds Sutherland), Deirbhile O’Neill (Matheson), Roisin O’Donoghue (William Fry), Suzanne Flynn (Arthur Cox), Nessa Boland (William Fry) and Simon Curmei (Fieldfisher).

The competition is taking place in Paris from 31 January–2 February 2024.

The moot court aims to foster and cultivate interest in freedom of expression issues and the role of the media and information technologies in societies around the world.

The annual competition challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional and international levels, and to develop their arguments (in written and oral forms) on cutting-edge questions in media and ICT law.
