The Law Society of Ireland has invited lawyers, their family and friends to take part in a virtual Calcutta Run this year. The legal fundraiser was originally due to take place in May but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The legal community has been encouraged to go for a run on Saturday to mark the original planned date for the Calcutta Run. The annual legal fundraiser was postponed to October after the coronavirus pandemic stopped it going ahead on 23 May 2020.
A staggering €300,000 raised by the legal profession at this year's Calcutta Run has been presented to the Peter McVerry Trust and The Hope Foundation.
