Vicky McCarthy Keane
Solicitor Vicky McCarthy Keane, who publicly spoke and wrote about her battle with motor neurone disease (MND), has passed away.
Mrs Keane died on Wednesday 28 December 2022 and her funeral took place on Monday at St Joseph’s Church in Rathwire, Co Westmeath.
Originally from Co Limerick, Mrs Keane studied at the University of Limerick and qualified as a solicitor in 1999 after training with David Brophy Solicitors. She later completed an LLM at University College Dublin.
She was diagnosed with MND in November 2017. Five years later, in November 2021, she published a book of poetry, Through My Eyes, which was written with eye-gaze technology.
Mrs Keane was profiled by the Law Society Gazette in February 2022.
