In-house lawyer Ross White has been elected as chair of the Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association (NIYSA).

Mr White, legal counsel at construction group GRAHAM, succeeded Shannon Gawley following the association’s AGM at Law Society House yesterday.

He is joined on the committee by Emma Falloon of Kennedys Law; William Wilson and Shannan Greer, both of Thompson Crooks; Katherine Grant and Victoria Kincaid, both of Carson McDowell; Emma Doherty of Tughans; Katherine McAuley of Joseph Magee and Co; Aisling Creegan of Lacey Solicitors; and Tony McCann of McCartan Turkington Breen.

Commenting on his election, Mr White said: “2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the NIYSA and I am looking forward to working with the newly elected committee and our members to make this anniversary year a memorable one.

“I am committed to representing and advancing the views of young solicitors in this jurisdiction, as well as strengthening our network with our counterparts in the UK, Ireland and our colleagues across Europe and further afield.”
