Northern Ireland house prices at highest level since 2008

House prices in Northern Ireland have reached their highest level since autumn 2008, with an average price of £195,242 in the second quarter of 2021.

The average price was up by more than nine per cent in comparison to the second quarter of 2020, according to the latest Ulster University House Price Index.

There were 4,100 transactions in the three months from April to June 2021, the highest figure since the Housing Executive began recording figures in 2003.

Around half of estate agents who contributed to the quarterly survey expected further price increases over the coming months, according to the report.

The quarterly report is produced by Ulster University in partnership with the Housing Executive and Progressive Building Society.
