New edited collection on Law and Constitutional Change
A new collection of papers presented at the 25th British Legal History Conference at Queen’s University Belfast has been published on an open access basis.
Law and Constitutional Change brings together some of the best papers presented at the conference, which examined the role that law plays when countries experience a major constitutional upheaval.
The papers examine the interaction of law and politics in history across different legal jurisdictions with different legal traditions.
The conference, co-hosted by the Irish Legal History Society and Queen’s University Belfast School of Law, took place in July 2022.
The theme of the conference, “Law and Constitutional Change”, was inspired by Ireland’s decade of centenaries, commemorating events from the home rule crisis to the island’s partition.
Professor David Capper, Dr Conor McCormick and Professor Norma Dawson of Queen’s University Belfast School of Law have edited the collection of papers, which has been published by Cambridge University Press.
Hard copies can be purchased from Cambridge University Press, with a 20 per cent discount using the code LACC2025 at checkout.
The book or individual chapters can also be downloaded free of charge.
