Mullany Walsh Maxwells has announced the sad passing of solicitor Michael Green.

In a statement, the firm said: “Michael was a consultant in the firm and before that a partner in Maxwells, formerly Maxwell Weldon & Darley.

“Michael spent his entire legal career in the firm, having joined his father James Green in Maxwell Weldon & Company as an apprentice solicitor after graduating from Trinity College Dublin.

“Michael was an accomplished legal practitioner advising many educational institutions and religious orders on all aspects of property and trust law, with particular expertise in complex conveyancing, property and charity law. For many years, he also lectured and tutored in the Law Society of Ireland in the area of landlord and tenant law.

“During his 50 years in the legal profession, he was always very generous with his time and willingly shared his vast knowledge with colleagues.

“When he was not in the office, Michael was an enthusiastic golfer, a lover of horseracing and Cheltenham and a devoted fan of Shamrock Rovers FC. He also carried out extensive charitable work in his free time.

“We extend our sincere condolences to Michael’s family, his many friends and his colleagues in the legal community.

“May he rest in peace.”
