NI: High Court cases to be adjourned for four weeks instead of eight

Sir Declan Morgan

High Court cases listed for a hearing next week should be adjourned for four weeks rather than eight weeks, the Lord Chief Justice has directed.

Amended COVID-19 guidance issued to courts states that “in most cases the adjournment period will be one of eight weeks”.

However, Sir Declan Morgan has directed that “where cases in the High Court list for the week of 20-24 April are to be adjourned, they should be adjourned for four weeks and not eight weeks”.

The amended guidelines, as well as further information on court business continuity arrangements, are available from the Department of Justice website.
