Emma McIlveen appointed as Scottish employment judge

Northern Ireland barrister Emma McIlveen has been appointed as an employment judge in Scotland.
A specialist in employment and public law, Ms McIlveen is qualified in four jurisdictions, frequently acting in England and Wales and both jurisdictions on the island of Ireland.
She is one of four new fee-paid judges appointed by this month Scotland’s Lord President, Lord Pentland, who will take up post on 1 March 2026.
Judge Susan Walker, president of Employment Tribunals (Scotland), welcomed the new judges, highlighting their specialist knowledge in employment law and expressing confidence in the contribution they will make to the tribunal’s work.
