Global law firm Dentons has appointed experienced commercial litigator Brian Clarke as a partner in Dublin.

Formerly a partner at Maples Group, Mr Clarke is a financial services specialist with extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration, banking and finance disputes, recovery and enforcement proceedings and contentious construction.

His arrival strengthens Dentons’ ability to advise domestic and multinational clients on complex disputes, regulatory investigations and arbitration.

Paul Jarvis, CEO of Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region, said: “Brian’s arrival aligns with our vision to create Dublin’s leading international blue-chip law firm offering clients the seniority, reputation and expertise of highly regarded practitioners combined with the reach of the world’s largest law firm.

“I am delighted to welcome him to the firm.”

Karyn Harty, global co-chair of disputes and head of litigation in Dublin, said: “Our aim is to build the premium disputes practice in Ireland.

“Brian’s recruitment adds senior-level bench strength to a 20-strong team that has the scale and quality to advise on high value multiparty disputes and white-collar defence mandates, often including a cross-jurisdictional element.”

Eavan Saunders, managing partner for Dentons in Ireland, added: “Brian fits the profile of a Dentons partner in Dublin: vastly experienced with a strategic mindset and credibility in the boardroom.

“Combining this with the brightest up-and-coming legal talent is the foundation of our success in winning premium mandates and will continue to be our model for future growth.”
