Courthouse closure to disrupt trials in Newry and Dungannon

Court business in Newry and Dungannon will be relocated for three months while repair works are carried out at Dungannon Courthouse.

The 20th-century courthouse will be closed from 29 March until 1 July 2024 to allow work to replace a “defective structural beam”, the Department of Justice announced yesterday.

During that period, Dungannon Crown Court will sit at Newry Courthouse and Newry Crown Court will sit at Craigavon Courthouse. All other Dungannon court business will sit at Omagh Courthouse.

Staff from the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service (NICTS) will engage with partners and stakeholders in advance of the temporary closure to ensure that all court users are aware of the changes.
