Former Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Ireland chair Ciaran Fahy has passed away.

Mr Fahy was active as an arbitrator, adjudicator, conciliator and mediator from 2003, mainly in construction disputes.

He served as chair of the Irish branch of CIArb in 2008/09.

Mr Fahy passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on 12 September after a “difficult illness”, according to a notice posted to rip.ie.

He will repose at Rom Massey & Sons Funeral Home, Cranford Centre, Stillorgan Road, Dublin 4 on Wednesday 17 September from 5pm to 7pm.

A funeral mass will take place on Thursday 18 September at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.
