A&L Goodbody today welcomed over 650 professionals to Croke Park for its eighth annual Corporate Crime & Regulation Summit. Bringing together senior figures from regulation, law enforcement and business, the half-day conference examined some of the most pressing regulatory, compliance and governance challenges facing organisations today.

Now in its eighth year, the Summit provides a forum for corporate leaders and advisers to hear directly from regulators, law enforcement officials and industry experts on developments shaping the regulatory and enforcement landscape. This year’s programme focused on areas including anti-money laundering supervision, AI governance and risk, individual accountability and global compliance, combining expert discussion with practical insights for organisations navigating an increasingly complex environment.

For the first time in the event’s history, a single subject featured twice on the agenda, which is chosen by attendees earlier in the year. That subject was artificial intelligence (AI), which is unsurprising given how prominent the topic has become. The first session examined the regulation and governance frameworks that AI will require. The second simulated a board meeting to explore how directors should respond ‘when AI goes wrong’.

This year’s event featured a distinguished line-up of speakers, including; Derville Rowland, executive board member, AMLA; Tony Cahalan, head of financial integrity division, Central Bank of Ireland; Brian McKenzie, head of AML, Citibank Europe Plc; James Wall, executive director, Gallagher’s Cyber & Technology; Ellen Clarke, security counsel, Google; Dario Dagostino, partner, head of litigation and regulatory investigations, A&L Goodbody and Kenan Furlong, partner, A&L Goodbody.

Commenting on the event, Kenan Furlong, partner in A&L Goodbody’s disputes & investigations group and white collar crime group lead, said: “We were delighted to welcome such a strong turnout for the eighth year of our Summit. The regulatory landscape is moving quickly and businesses are having to respond to new expectations across everything from anti-money laundering and individual accountability to AI and global compliance. The Summit brings together those at the forefront of these issues to share practical insights and help organisations navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.”

The 2026 Summit programme was shaped by input from A&L Goodbody’s clients and included sessions on:

  • AMLA keynote session on EU AML supervision
  • Lessons from the boardroom: governing AI risk
  • Accountability in action: three years of the Central Bank’s Individual Accountability Framework
  • Scaling global compliance: cross-sectoral lessons from the frontline
  • When AI goes wrong: a live crisis simulation
  • Better structures, better decisions, better outcomes: reducing risk
