NI: Young lawyers and accountants raise almost £2k for charity

The Northern Ireland Young Solicitors’ Association (NIYSA) and Chartered Accountants Young Professionals Group (YPG) have raised over £1,800 for the Princes Trust at a charity quiz.

The two groups organised the second annual Battle of the Young Professionals Quiz, which pits lawyers against accountants.

The event is held in Belfast and sponsored by Brightwater Recruitment.

The lawyers were the winners on the night with a team from Herbert Smith Freehills taking the top spot, winning prizes donated by Brightwater Recruitment and TM Lewin. Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors and Deloitte took joint second place.

Julie-Ann McCaffrey, chair of the NIYSA, told Irish Legal News: “The event was a resounding success enjoyed by the attendees. Thank you to everyone who supported this event especially Brightwater Recruitment. I am delighted that the lawyers took the title for the second year in a row!”

Mark Lawther, chair of the YPG, added: “We thank all those who donated prizes for the raffle including Deloitte, EY, Ulster Bank, CQ Law, Cleaver Fulton Rankin, PKF FPM, PWC, KPMG and HHD Solicitors. We also thank our members for their continuing support and look forward to 2017 win for the accountants.”
