NI: UK Supreme Court to hand down abortion ruling next week

The UK Supreme Court has confirmed it will rule on a landmark challenge to Northern Ireland’s abortion laws next Thursday 7 June.
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) argued before the court last October that the current law in Northern Ireland violates human rights.
The NIHRC applied to have its case heard at the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal in Belfast dismissed its appeal last June.
The hand-down will be streamed on Supreme Court Live and will then be made available on the Supreme Court’s video on demand service.
