NI: Speeding drivers appear before Anahilt ‘Kids’ Court’

Drivers caught speeding outside Anahilt Primary School in Co Down were given the option to appeal before a panel of children in “Kids’ Court” as an alternative to penalty points and a fine.
They were challenged to account for their actions by a panel of mock judges aged 10 and 11 years old.
The novel road safety initiative, pioneered by the PSNI Road Education Unit, has only taken place once before in Lisburn.
