Solicitors sought for mediation research project

Bill Holohan

Solicitors have been invited to participate in a research project examining Irish solicitors’ knowledge and use of mediation.

Bill Holohan SC, partner at Holohan Lane LLP in Cork, is conducting the research as part of his doctorate study at Northumbria University.

Mr Holohan said: “My research is in relation to mediation. In particular, I am trying to study the extent of knowledge about mediation among Irish solicitors, and the extent to which mediation features in their practice.

“To that end, I am looking for volunteers who would agree to be interviewed. I am hoping to get a geographical spread of practitioners around the country with a mix of male and female practitioners of all ages and from firms of all sizes.

“I am particularly interested in interviewing solicitors who have little or no knowledge/experience of mediation.”

Participation in the research would involve between 30 and 60 minutes of time.

Solicitors interested in taking part should contact Mr Holohan on b.holohan@northumbria.ac.uk.
