NI All Party Group on Access to Justice discuss the use of NDAs

The All-Party Group on Access to Justice(APG) met on Tuesday for a substantive discussion on the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) also known as Confidentiality Clauses.
APG members had the opportunity to hear directly from vice chair of the Bar Council Martin Wolfe KC and Les Allamby, representing the The Law Society of Northern Ireland.
Discussions explored how confidentiality agreements are being used in practice and whether any changes in law, policy or practice should be considered.
The meeting also examined the balance between legitimate and well-established uses of confidentiality agreements within the legal system and broader concerns around transparency and access to justice.
The conversation was informed and the MLAs in attendance engaged on the issues under discussion.
