Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP celebrates 10 years
Geraldine Griffith, Conor Mullany and Cara Walsh
This year marks a significant milestone for Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP as the firm celebrates ten years since the merger of Mullany Walsh with the long established Maxwells (formerly Maxwell Weldon & Darley), building on generations of legal expertise while creating a modern and progressive law firm serving clients both in Ireland and internationally.
The story of Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP did not begin in 2016. Its history is in a number of respected legal practices with long traditions of serving businesses, families, educational institutions and charities. Prior to the merger with Maxwells, Conor Mullany had established and grown Mullany Solicitors, while Cara Walsh led the practice of Brendan Walsh & Partners, succeeding her father, the late Brendan D. Walsh, who in turn succeeded his father Brendan T. Walsh. The merger of their respective practices brought together a shared commitment to client service, practical legal advice and strong professional relationships.
The merger with Maxwells represented the next chapter in that journey. It also carried with it a responsibility to preserve and build upon the legacy of a firm that had served clients for generations. Maxwells was synonymous with trusted legal advice and included among its partners and practitioners many highly respected figures within the legal profession.
One of those figures was the late Michael Green, who devoted his entire legal career to the firm. A distinguished practitioner in property, trust and charity law, Mr Green advised generations of clients while also lecturing and tutoring with the Law Society of Ireland. He was widely admired not only for his legal expertise but also for his generosity, professionalism and willingness to mentor younger colleagues. His contribution forms an important part of the firm’s legacy and remains an enduring influence on its culture and values.
Another longstanding and highly respected member of the practice is Geraldine Griffith, who remains a consultant with Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP today. Ms Griffith has advised clients for many years across commercial and residential property, private client matters and charities and has played an important role in the development of the firm. She is also greatly valued by colleagues for her generosity with her time, her support of junior practitioners and her willingness to share the knowledge and experience gained throughout a distinguished legal career.
Over the past decade, Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP has grown from those foundations into a full service law firm, providing advice across corporate & commercial, property, litigation, employment law and private client matters.
Today, the firm acts for a broad range of clients, from individuals and family businesses to established commercial enterprises, educational institutions, charities and property owners. Many client relationships span years and, in some cases, generations, reflecting the trust that has always been at the heart of the practice.
The firm’s tenth anniversary also comes at a time of continued development, with the team expanding to meet growing client demand across a number of practice areas. While the firm has evolved considerably over the past decade, it remains committed to the values that have defined it throughout its history, including expertise, accessibility, integrity and personal service.
Reflecting on the last ten years, the anniversary provides an opportunity not only to celebrate growth and achievement but also to acknowledge the people who have shaped the firm over many decades. From the practitioners who built the firm’s reputation, to the clients who have placed their trust in the firm, to the colleagues who continue to contribute to its success, all have played a role in the story of Mullany Walsh Maxwells LLP.
As the firm looks to the future, it does so with a deep respect for its history and a clear commitment to continuing the tradition of trusted legal advice and exceptional client service that has defined the practice for generations.
Reflecting on the firm’s tenth anniversary, Cara Walsh said: “Over the past ten years, we have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional colleagues and to earn the trust of clients who continue to place their confidence in us. We are particularly mindful of those who came before us and helped build the foundations on which the firm stands today, including our valued colleague Geraldine Griffith but also my late father Brendan and the late Michael Green who remain part of our story.”
Conor Mullany said: “As we look to the future, we remain committed to providing the same practical, solution focused advice and high quality legal service that has been the hallmark of the practice for generations. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved and excited about the opportunities that are ahead.”
