MSM Law has announced the appointment of Lauren Murphy to their family law team, bringing a broad range of legal experience gained in Ireland and Australia, including work in human rights, criminal defence and commercial litigation.

Ms Murphy graduated in law from Queen’s University Belfast, where she served as president of the University’s Law Society, before completing her professional training at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, Ms Murphy worked as a paralegal in a Belfast criminal defence practice, assisting with the preparation of cross-border matters. She subsequently completed her training contract with an international commercial law firm, gaining experience across commercial litigation, employment, construction and banking law.

Following qualification, Ms Murphy moved to Melbourne, where she worked within the Human Rights Division of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. She later joined an Australian law firm, assisting clients with total and permanent disability and superannuation claims.

Having returned to Ireland, Ms Murphy now brings that varied experience to MSM Law’s family law department.

Eoghan McKenna, director of MSM Law, commented: “Lauren brings a valuable combination of legal experience, international perspective and a genuinely approachable manner to our family law team. Family law matters are often deeply personal, and clients need solicitors who listen carefully, explain their options clearly and approach every case with sensitivity and sound judgement. Lauren’s appointment strengthens our ability to provide that support as the department continues to develop.”
