John O’Kelly has been elected as chairperson of the Belfast Solicitors’ Association (BSA).
Mr O’Kelly, a partner in Belfast-based HHD Solicitors, was elected at yesterday’s BSA AGM to succeed outgoing chairperson Robert Croskery.
“I feel honoured and fortunate to have been entrusted with the role of representing the solicitor profession in Belfast,” he said.
“I am grateful to our outgoing chairperson Robert Croskery for his commitment and guidance over the past year.
“The association has a strong and proud history and the new committee is eager to build upon that record in 2026 by furthering the interests of its members and the wider profession.”
Mr O’Kelly is joined on the BSA committee by newly-elected treasurer Chris Kinney and honorary secretary Claire McKeegan.
The BSA said the new committee’s priorities for 2026 will include addressing outstanding costs issues with urgency, as well as delivering a full programme of social events alongside an extensive CPD calendar.
“The BSA extends its thanks to all outgoing committee members for their service and looks forward to a productive year ahead under the leadership of the newly-elected officers,” it said.
