Jim O’Callaghan pays visit to Smithfield law centre

Jim O’Callaghan was recently welcomed by the Legal Aid Board to its law centre in Smithfield.
Located in the heart of Dublin, the centre plays a key role in supporting individuals and families. The centre provides legal aid to those who qualify, in areas such as divorce, childcare orders, and international protection.
Joan Crawford, CEO of the Legal Aid Board, said: “We are proud of the work done every day by our colleagues in Smithfield and throughout the country. Legal aid is a cornerstone of access to justice — and this centre demonstrates how accessible, community-based services can make a real difference to people’s lives.
“Each case resolved and each person supported signifies the importance of what we do, and Law Centre Smithfield helps on average just over 5,000 people per year.”
During his visit, the justice minister met with staff and was given an overview of the vital legal aid services available at the centre.
