Flynn O’Driscoll backs new €2,000 scholarship for Maynooth law and criminology students

A new partnership between Maynooth University and Flynn O’Driscoll LLP will offer a €2,000 scholarship for final-year law and criminology students.
The initiative is designed to support high-achieving final-year undergraduate students in the School of Law and Criminology by offering a combination of financial support, valuable professional experience, and mentorship.
Professor Fergus Ryan, head of the School of Law and Criminology, said: “We are delighted to partner with Flynn O’Driscoll on this important initiative to support our final-year students.
“This scholarship represents a significant opportunity for our students to gain both financial assistance and a direct pathway into professional legal practice.
“We are sincerely grateful to Flynn O’Driscoll for their generosity and commitment to nurturing future legal talent.”
Commencing in the 2025/26 academic year, the scholarship will be awarded to a Year 3 or Year 4 LLB or BCL student who has demonstrated exceptional academic performance, motivation, and a strong interest in law.
As well as financial support, the scholarship package includes a one-month internship with Flynn O’Driscoll during summer 2026. Following completion of the summer internship, the student will have the opportunity to apply for the firm’s graduate trainee programme.
It also includes a comprehensive mentorship programme provided jointly by Flynn O’Driscoll and Maynooth University.
