Employment law association launches €750 student competition

Students with an interest in employment law have the chance to win up to €750 in a new competition launched by the Employment Law Association of Ireland (ELAI).

The competition, which is also open to law students in Northern Ireland, invites either an essay of up to 2,000 words or a video of up to 15 minutes on the topic: “How should employment law change to ensure flexible working and the right to disconnect in a talent-driven market?”

There will be prizes for the best essay and best video, worth €750 towards the winners’ ongoing studies, and prizes for a highly commended video and a highly commended essay, worth €300 each.

All four winners will enjoy a year’s free membership of ELAI from May 2022 to May 2023, which includes free access to ELAI seminars throughout the year.

The competition is now open and the deadline for submission of entries is 5pm on 1 March 2022. Winners will be announced at the 2022 ELAI AGM in May.

More information, including how to enter, is available from the ELAI website.
