NI: DWF gives sixth form pupils first-hand experience of recruitment

Pupils Nadine Carson-Maguire from St Louise’s College and Tyler Nelson from Boy’s Model with (L-R) Aileen McAvoy, Danske; James Morrison, DWF; Craig Smart, Grafton; and Ciara Liddy, DWF and a former St Louise's pupil

Global legal business DWF gave sixth form students from Belfast first-hand experience of the recruitment process by participating in a The Apprentice-style employability programme.

The students from St Louise’s College in West Belfast and Boy’s Model in North Belfast were mentored in CV development, job application and interview skills by HR specialists from DWF and its business partners, Danske and Grafton.

Past pupils from both schools work in DWF’s Belfast office, including associate Ciara Liddy who has helped to deliver the initiative as part of the firm’s “5 STAR Futures” programme, which was developed as part of the business’s commitment to shaping the workforces of the future.

Partner James Morrison said: “Our focus is to help these young people cultivate some of the skills needed to embark on working life – from understanding the expectations of businesses, to maximising your CV and honing your interview skills.

“The students showed great potential and we hope the support of our team of HR experts will help each as they move from education to a rewarding career.”
