David Gaffney
Cork solicitor David Gaffney has passed away.
A specialist in employment law, Mr Gaffney was founder and principal solicitor of Gaffney Solicitors from its establishment in 2015 until it was wound down in 2024.
Prior to this, he worked in Sweeney Solicitors, Coakley Moloney Solicitors, LK Shields, DAS Group and O’Flynn Exhams.
A graduate of University College Cork and the Dublin Institute of Technology, he wrote and lectured extensively in employment law.
According to RIP.ie, Mr Gaffney passed away unexpectedly on Thursday 19 February.
His funeral will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 24 February, from 11.30am at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Blarney and will be streamed online.
In a statement, the Southern Law Association said: “The President and Council of the Southern Law Association join with our members in extending our sincere sympathies to his fiancée Klaudija, parents Michael and Mary, and his entire family.”
