A&L Goodbody LLP (ALG) has appointed Keavy Ryan as chair of the partnership.
Ms Ryan will succeed ALG’s current chair, Séamus Ó Cróinín, on 1 October.
After a successful three-year term, Mr Ó Cróinín will continue his role as a senior partner in the firm’s finance department, specialising in aviation and other forms of finance.
Ms Ryan is an experienced partner in the firm’s corporate department, specialising in M&A, corporate restructurings, governance and equity incentives and benefits.
She will continue to work with her existing clients alongside her role as chair.
David Widger, managing partner at ALG, said: “The firm has benefitted hugely from having Séamus as chair for the last three years.
“He has played a key leadership role in helping to develop and grow our business as well as supporting our people — I would like to thank him for all that he has done during his tenure.”
He continued: “Myself and the senior management team are really looking forward to working with Keavy.
“She is one of our leading corporate partners who has forged strong relationships with clients and other law firms, particularly internationally.
“Keavy is also a keen advocate for diversity, equality and inclusion, as a mentor and support for colleagues across the firm.
“I’m thrilled that Keavy will be stepping into the role as chair of ALG.”
