Calcutta Run sets ambitious €350,000 fundraising target

The Law Society of Ireland has set an ambitious €350,000 fundraising target for its first in-person Calcutta Run fundraiser since 2019.

The virtual Calcutta Run raised €285,000 in 2020 and just €215,000 in 2021 for its charity partners, the Peter McVerry Trust and The Hope Foundation.

Now in its 24th year, the Calcutta Run will go ahead as a hybrid event, with solicitors invited to take part in-person on Saturday 28 May 2022 or virtually from anywhere in the world between 21-27 May.

Members of the legal profession, their families and friends are invited to register and fundraise together by running or walking the 5km and 10km routes starting and finishing at the Law Society, Blackhall Place via the scenic Phoenix Park.

The Calcutta Run will also host a tag rugby fundraiser taking place on 21 May at the Law Society and the inaugural Calcutta Run golf classic on 27 May.

This year’s fundraising target was announced at the Calcutta Run’s official 2022 launch event at William Fry’s offices on Thursday.
