Arthur Cox has announced the renewal of its legal scholarship programme in conjunction with University College Cork.

The aim of the Arthur Cox UCC Law Scholarships is to support law students at University College Cork who face economic and societal barriers to participating fully in their studies. The scholarships are available for three academic years, starting with the current academic year and will provide assistance to students looking to pursue a career in law.

Managing partner Geoff Moore said: “We are very pleased to support these scholarships in conjunction with UCC. In order to fully encourage diversity in the legal profession, we need to remove the barriers to education.

“Our aim with these scholarships is to ensure that law students in UCC are able to participate fully in college life and that they have the necessary supports to help them on their career path in law.”

UCC president Professor John O’Halloran added: “At UCC, promoting equal opportunities and breaking down barriers to education is a priority for us.

“The Arthur Cox UCC Law Scholarships will provide much-needed support to our law students and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our students’ lives.”

The scholarships are worth a total of €180,000 over the course of the three academic years and will be available to law students registered with the Access UCC Plus+ Programme. More information is available from the UCC website.
