An Ulster University postgraduate student has won the A&O Shearman award for the best overall performance in the field of librarianship and information management.
The Library and Information Management Postgraduate Diploma is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP). It is delivered online and attracts both local and international students, boosting their career prospects in the sector.
This year’s recipient, Ambrose Hall, lives in Hertfordshire, England. He studied the Diploma remotely on recommendation from his colleagues at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge where he works. He was awarded top marks for the two-year programme that enhances the knowledge and skills of information professionals.
Jonathan Jackson, A&O Shearman’s global head of research and library said: “Congratulations to Ambrose on this well-deserved achievement. At A&O Shearman, we are proud to support Ulster University’s outstanding programme and its role in developing the next generation of library and information professionals. Ambrose Hall said: “The Diploma at Ulster University has allowed me to develop my knowledge of the sector alongside working full-time. Staff at Ulster have done a great job of adapting the course delivery to an online setting and I really enjoyed my studies. I found it complemented my professional work and built upon my previous experience obtaining CILIP Certification. It’s fantastic that A&O Shearman supports the development of library and information sector professionals.”
