Tracey Rosner applied for a job which involved teaching one hour of Spanish every day, but the fact that she could not speak any Spanish hindered her application.

The district requires that those who are to teach Spanish need to speak the language too.

The teacher is now filing a case against the district, claiming that their policy of only hiring Spanish-speaking teachers is discriminatory against those who do not speak Spanish.

Ms Rosner claims she was “fully qualified” to do the job, provided the school appointed a Spanish-speaking helper for the foreign language section of the course.
