And finally… lion in court

Eighteen lions will be put on “trial” in India to identify the big cat responsible for killing three people in the state of Gujarat.

Police have rounded up the animals, whose paw prints and faeces are now being tested in order to establish the culprit of the tragic attack.

According to the Washington Post, the guilty animal will be given a life sentence - in a nearby Indian zoo.

The other animals will be released back into the wild.

J.A. Khan, Gujarat’s top forest official, said: “We think we have pinpointed the guilty lion, but we are still awaiting the results of nine more animals.”
