Representatives from Amnesty International NI and the Belfast-based NGO Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ) today met Max Hill QC, the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation.

In a Twitter thread, Amnesty said it was concerned that counter-terror powers were being used “for immigration or other purposes”.

The human rights organisation added that there is “legitimate concern that such practices could increase post-Brexit as ‘border control’ around NI (whether with RoI/EU or rest of UK) is hardened”.
