Associates Doreen Mescal, Niall Marren and Catherine Cusack have joined the firm’s corporate team, as well as newly-qualified solicitors Kevin Sheedy, Niamh O’Brien and Emily Forde.

Their appointment coincides with the firm’s recent promotion of Paul Dempsey to partner in the dispute resolution department.

The firm has said that the departure of the UK from the EU has created the potential for the Irish legal system to be regarded as the jurisdiction of choice for contract dispute resolution.

Announcing Mr Dempsey’s promotion last week, managing partner Mark Walsh said: “The Irish common law system is now the only one of its kind within the EU and that makes Ireland a prime destination for dispute resolution in the aftermath of Brexit.”
