Simmons & Simmons has announced financial markets partner, Rachel Stanton, as new country head of its Irish office, with effect from 1 January 2023. The news comes after outgoing country head, Fionán Breathnach, announced his decision to retire from legal practice next year.

Hayes solicitors LLP has appointed Liam Moloney as a partner in the firm's commercial property team. Mr Moloney brings nearly three decades of experience in all aspects of commercial and business transactions.

Global law firm DLA Piper has hired former Irish ambassador Daniel Mulhall as a consultant. Over a 40-year diplomatic career, Mr Mulhall served as Ireland's ambassador to Malaysia, Germany, the UK and, most recently, as Ireland's ambassador to the US from 2017 to 2022.

Dublin-headquartered aviation company LCI has promoted Terri Foley to chief operating officer (COO) and general counsel. Ms Foley is an English-qualified solicitor who began her career with Dentons in London before joining LCI as general counsel in 2008.

Comyn Kelleher Tobin LLP (CKT) has promoted Nicola Kiely to partner in the firm's Dublin office. Ms Kiely, previously a senior associate, acts primarily on behalf of Irish and international insurers, as well as a number of self-insured.

Kilkenny-based Poe Kiely Hogan Lanigan (PKHL) has promoted Annette Hickey and Chris Hogan to partners in the firm. Ms Hickey is head of surrogacy and family law at PKHL and is a frequent commentator on issues related to surrogacy and fertility law. She was interviewed by Irish Legal News in June.
