ICEL Competition Law Conference 2026 in partnership with A&L Goodbody
The ICEL Competition Law Conference returns on Wednesday 4 March 2026, bringing together judges, practitioners and regulators to examine the most significant developments in Irish and EU competition law.
This year’s conference will provide a comprehensive review of recent legislative, enforcement and trends, with a particular focus on practical challenges facing practitioners and businesses. The programme will combine expert-led panel discussions with interactive roundtable sessions, offering attendees valuable insights into both current and emerging issues.
Key topics will include:
- The European Commission’s current competition agenda
- Recent developments in the CJEU and General Court
- Lessons from major cartel enforcement, including the Bus Cartel case
- The operation of the Competition (Amendment) Act 2022 and the new adjudication procedure
- Dawn raids and enforcement powers
- Collective damages actions
- Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) screening
- Practical challenges in competition law enforcement and compliance
The conference will feature contributions from a distinguished panel of confirmed speakers, including Brian Cullen (European Commission), Bernadette Quigley SC, Tony McGillicuddy SC, Emily Neill BL, Kate Egan BL, Brian Kennedy SC (Law Library), Catherine Derrig (McCann FitzGerald), Kate McKenna (Matheson), Barry Doherty SC, Dervla Broderick (A&L Goodbody), John Meade SC (John Meade Solicitors), and Ms Justice Nuala Butler.
The conference is chaired by Dr Vincent Power SC and Ciarán Toland SC.
