Taylor Wessing hires Patricia McCarvill to establish tax practice

Taylor Wessing Ireland has appointed Patricia McCarvill as the firm’s first dedicated tax partner.

Ms McCarvill, who previously co-founded the tax practice at Simmons & Simmons’ Dublin office, joins the firm from 15 April 2024 and will establish its new tax practice.

She is particularly versatile, being known for her extensive experience in respect of all tax heads and in multiple sectors. She has expertise in M&A, cross-border restructurings and reorganisations, share schemes, banking, structured finance/debt capital markets, asset management and investment funds, VAT and tax disputes.

Ms McCarvill’s appointment comes alongside a number of other significant new hires at the firm.

The disputes and investigations team has been boosted with the appointment of Seán Carroll as a senior associate and Shannon Buckley Barnes as an associate, while the real estate team has grown with the appointment of Sarah Kelly as a senior associate and Bríd Kenny as an associate.
