Research seeks to identify barriers to women achieving judicial appointment

Caoimhe Kiernan

Lawyers and legal academics have been invited to complete a survey seeking to identify the barriers to women achieving judicial appointment in Ireland.

Caoimhe Kiernan, a PhD researcher at TU Dublin, is carrying out research that aims to highlight the importance of supporting women and individuals from minority backgrounds within the legal profession in order to ensure their progression and, ultimately, their appointment to judicial roles.

Qualified legal professionals, including solicitors, barristers and law lecturers, have been invited to complete a confidential and anonymous survey to identify the factors that they believe may affect progress in the legal and judicial professions.

The answers to this survey are confidential and anonymous. This anonymous data will be stored securely on the TU Dublin server. Please see the TU Dublin Data Protection Policy should you have any queries.

For further information on the study, please contact the researcher, Caoimhe Kiernan at d19125471@mytudublin.ie.

To take the survey, click here. Qualified legal professionals are invited to complete the survey by 28 July 2021.
