Students at Queen’s University Belfast have emerged as winners of the Client Consultation Competition 2018.

Abena Asuse-Poku and Doreen Awuah bested the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS) and two Ulster University teams at the regional heat run by the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Ethan Campbell and Emer Doherty Sweeney made up the Ulster University (Magee) team, Belinda Widocka and Eimear Fanthorpe the Ulster University (Jordanstown) team, and Charlotte Chestnutt and Johanna Cunningham represented the IPLS.

The competition provides law students and trainees with an opportunity to test their client communication and interview skills in scenarios judged by practising and former solicitors.

The winning QUB team will proceed to the final of the Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition hosted by Maastricht University from 1-14 April 2018.
