Mason Hayes & Curran appoints Julie Austin as privacy and data security partner

Mason Hayes & Curran LLP has announced the appointment of Julie Austin as a partner in the firm’s privacy and data security team.

Ms Austin advises clients on a range of data protection issues solving complex global privacy problems for major organisations.

She has particular expertise working with clients on crisis management mandates including advising on high profile global security incidents, and has has advised numerous organisations on Data Protection Commission investigations and inquiries.

A graduate of University College Cork (UCC), she previously worked in Fieldfisher and another major Irish law firm.

Commenting on her appointment, Philip Nolan, head of the firm’s data privacy and protection team, said: “I am very pleased to announce Julie’s appointment to the team. Julie is recognised in the market for her substantive privacy experience along with her understanding of Irish procedural law.”

Ms Austin added: “I’m pleased to join the partnership and bring my combination of regulatory and data privacy law to clients enabling them to make strategic choices no matter how complex or challenging the issue.”
