Dublin lawyer Martina O’Mahoney has been promoted to partner at global law firm Kennedys as part of the firm’s largest-ever promotions round.

The firm has appointed 22 new partners – more than twice as many as last year – bringing its total worldwide partner count to 293. Of the new partners, 13 are women and nine are men.

Formerly an in-house defence litigation solicitor with a global insurer, Ms O’Mahoney advises fleets, retailers, hoteliers and insurers, with a focus on personal injury claims.

She also holds the advanced diploma in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, the professional diploma in insurance from University College Dublin, and co-authored the Kennedys Claims Handling Law and Practice Guide.

Andrew McGahey, Kennedys’ regional managing partner for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: “I am delighted that Martina have been promoted to partner in our Dublin office.

“Her promotion reflects the continuing growth of the EMEA region and Martina will be an integral part in the continuing success and growth in Dublin and across Kennedys globally. With a record 22 new partners being promoted across our global offices I’m pleased to see our people’s hard work and commitment being recognised.”

Nick Thomas, senior partner, said: “I am delighted to recognise and reward a record number of new partners this year and to see that success shared so widely across our global offices.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and diverse workforce, which not only enables us to be where our clients need us most but has allowed us to continue growing even during a challenging couple of years.

“Our people are integral to our success and that’s why we place such emphasis on investing in and nurturing our talent, providing clear career progression, and a comfortable, inclusive working environment where they can thrive.”
