Man loses appeal over conviction for harassing Belfast solicitor

A man has lost an appeal against his conviction for harassing Belfast solicitor Emma Lyons.
Kevin Kennedy, 37, was convicted in Belfast Magistrates’ Court in March 2024 of harassing Ms Lyons on dates between July 2022 and February 2023.
The harassment began after Ms Lyons represented a woman who took court proceedings against Mr Kennedy.
He appealed to Belfast County Court, which on Friday upheld his conviction and imposed a suspended sentence and restraining order, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
Judge Mark McGarrity imposed a four-month sentence suspended for two years as well as a five-year ban on contacting Ms Lyons.
