London Irish lawyer becomes Fieldfisher partner

William Glover

Northern Ireland-born lawyer William Glover has been promoted to partner in the London office of Fieldfisher LLP.

Mr Glover, who grew up in Bangor, was co-chair of the London Irish Lawyers Association (LILA) for four years until January 2025.

A partner in Fieldfisher’s dispute resolution team, he acts on fraud and asset recovery instructions including both criminal and civil proceedings as well as adjacent public law actions and arbitration. He is particularly well known for his expertise in the crypto sector.

He currently leads on an instruction for over 3,000 Chinese nationals in a matter involving the highest value freeze of assets pursuant to the Proceeds of Crime Act in UK legal history – the so-called “Chinese crypto queen” case, which has attracted widespread media attention.

He also has a background in financial crime and has successfully represented both corporates and individuals in a range of unique and often difficult circumstances.

Celebrating his promotion on LinkedIn, Mr Glover said: “To the little me that grew up in a not so quiet enclave in Northern Ireland – well done.”

Fieldfisher managing partner Robert Shooter said: “At Fieldfisher, our people are what sets us apart. We’re committed to creating opportunities for our talent to grow, lead and shape the future of the firm.

“I’m therefore delighted to announce this year’s partner promotions across our European network, further reinforcing our One Europe strategy.

“These promotions reflect the hard work, expertise and dedication shown by each of our new partners. We’re incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved and excited to see what they go on to accomplish next.”

Jamie Woodcock has been promoted to partner in Fieldfisher’s Dublin office.
