Leading human rights voices to address Law Society conference

A senior judge and leading human rights lawyers and academics will address the Law Society of Ireland human rights and equality committee’s annual conference in November.

The free event at Blackhall Place on Friday 28 November will hear from speakers including Mr Justice Gerard Hogan, the Supreme Court judge and former Advocate General to the European Court of Justice.

Cristina Stamatescu, chair of the Law Society’s human rights and equality committee, said: “This conference offers much more than a standard legal event and promises to be a rewarding and memorable experience for lawyers, students and anyone with a genuine interest in human rights in Ireland.”

It will hear from “leading voices in the legal profession, colleagues, academics, members of the judiciary, representatives from across Ireland, member of European Parliament, NGOs, the Bar Council, the Law Society of Ireland and the Law Society of Northern Ireland”, she added.
