The Legal Walk, organised by the Law Society of Northern Ireland, is now in its second year with participation from all parts of the legal profession, including solicitors, barristers, judges and support staff.

On Friday, over 250 participants dressed in bright yellow T-shirts set off from outside the High Court in Belfast for the five-kilometre walk/run to the Titanic Centre and back again.

Amongst those participating were senior members of the judiciary in Northern Ireland, including Mr Justice Maguire, Mrs Justice Keegan and Madame Justice McBride.

Participants have raised nearly £1,400 for the charity through their official JustGiving page so far.

Eileen Ewing, president of the Law Society, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated, offered support, ran or walked despite the bad weather and for making the second Legal Walk/Run such a resounding success.”

Ciara Gallagher, head of philanthropy & corporate partnerships (Scotland/NI) at ‎Marie Curie, added: “Marie Curie would like to thank the solicitors, barristers, members of the Judiciary and support staff for their support and participation in the Legal Walk/Run 2018. The monies raised will go towards supporting families across Northern Ireland.”
