JRAP O’Meara names Jerry Canty as new managing partner

Cork-based JRAP O’Meara LLP has appointed Jerry Canty as its new managing partner.
Mr Canty takes the reins of the 156-year-old firm from Darren O’Keeffe, who will remain as head of the firm’s litigation department.
Reflecting on his tenure, Mr O’Keeffe said: “It has been an honour to lead JRAP O’Meara through a period of growth and change.
“I am thrilled to see Jerry take on this role — his expertise and vision will ensure the firm continues to thrive.”
The firm said Mr Canty brings extensive experience in commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, property, and security transactions, coupled with a strong business focus and client-first approach that aligns with its ethos.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Canty said: “I am delighted to step into the role of managing partner.

This announcement follows the recent expansion of JRAP O’Meara LLP into 11,500 sq. ft. offices at Thompson House, MacCurtain Street in Cork’s Victorian Quarter.
The new workspace blends historical architectural elements with modern design and functionality and provides space for the future growth of the firm.
