Hayes solicitors LLP has announced the appointment of Triona Sugrue as partner in its employment law team.
Ms Sugrue brings experience advising employers and employees on the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. She has experience representing parties in employment disputes before the Workplace Relations Commission, the Labour Court and the civil courts, as well as advising on complex workplace and employment law issues.
In addition to her client practice, Ms Sugrue has a strong reputation in employment law education and professional development. She lectures in employment law at the Law Society of Ireland and regularly contributes to publications on employment law developments.
Ms Sugrue’s arrival follows the promotion of Catherine Jane O’Rourke to employment law partner earlier this year and represents a further investment by Hayes in the senior capability of its employment practice. The team also includes consultant, Breda O’Malley, together with a growing practice of experienced employment lawyers.
Joe O’Malley, managing partner at Hayes solicitors LLP, said: “We are delighted to welcome Triona to Hayes. She is a highly experienced and respected employment lawyer whose expertise will be a significant addition to the firm.
“Our employment practice has experienced considerable growth, reflecting the increasingly complex issues facing employers and the strength of the team we have built. Triona’s appointment, following Catherine Jane’s promotion to partner earlier this year, further strengthens our employment offering and reflects our continued investment in areas where we are seeing strong client demand.”
Anne Lyne, head of employment at Hayes solicitors LLP, said: “Triona brings an impressive depth of employment law experience and a strong reputation within the profession. Her combination of technical expertise, practical experience and commitment to professional education will complement the existing strengths of our team extremely well.
“We are seeing increasing demand for sophisticated employment advice across litigation, investigations, organisational change and day-to-day strategic matters. Triona’s appointment gives us additional senior capacity to support our clients as the practice continues to grow.”
Commenting on her appointment, Ms Sugrue said: “I am delighted to be joining Hayes and its highly regarded employment team. The practice has an excellent reputation for combining strong technical expertise with practical, commercially focused advice, and I am very much looking forward to working with Anne and the wider team and contributing to the continued development of the practice.”
