Free Irish Legal News webinar to examine data protection in the post-pandemic world

Irish Legal News is proud to present an expert discussion on the changing landscape of data protection in Ireland and abroad.

The free webinar, on Thursday 6 August, 2pm-4pm, follows our highly-successful webinar on access to justice earlier this month.

As privacy and data protection issues increasingly dominate the headlines, the event will consider the changing landscape of data protection in Ireland and abroad.

Chaired by Andrew McKeown BL, it will hear from:

  • Data protection specialist Simon McGarr on the recent Schrems II ruling and its consequences
  • Defamation lawyer Paul Tweed, partner at specialist firm Gateley Tweed, on the case for tighter regulation of the social media giants
  • Olga Cronin, policy officer with the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, on the data protection record of the Irish government
  • One more speaker TBA

Tickets are strictly limited to 100 participants, so book now via Eventbrite to avoid disappointment. For more information, contact newsdesk@irishlegal.com.
